Where can I purchase a few rolls of chrome contact paper? Also, if anyone has used this stuff then perhaps you can tell me if it is worth buying ...... does it look good? .... does it last?

I used a roll of RVS (bushed look). It was pretty sturdy and looked pretty realistic. I only used it for framing pictures so I wouldn't know if it would really be usueful for say a CP covering. The stuff I got was for kitchen shelfs though, so I assume it would stand up to some abuse.

I don't know where to get it, but I do know that anything as glossy as chrome applied like contact paper is going to be VERY difficult to have look perfect. If you are doing a flat space of any kind you may be better off with an actual laminate, and even then the area will have to be completely clean. At my summer job we were laminating with some brushed aluminum (no where near as glossy as chrome) and even that showed any imperfections like they were huge zits on the face of the finished product.
If the contact paper is re-positionable then you may not be too bad off, but whatever the case, my suggestion is to have the surface it's going to be applied to as perfectly flat, smooth, and clean as possible.

Good point ..... I need to think this through. Just playing around with some ideas in my head. Thanks for the input.

I got some at the Home Depot....It is very hard to get it to look perfect. Also, the adhesive on the back is not very strong, so you would need to use a plexiglass covering, as when I sprayed some 3M 32 adhesive, the paper disintegrated...

Sounds like you should just use Reynolds Wrap.

Have you looked into FX Sheeting (http://www.alsacorp.com/products/sheetingfx/sheetingfx.info.htm)? I saw this on the news where they made over a kitchen.. seems like it is pretty promising.

Sounded good until I looked at the price. Getting a "sample booklet" which included 13 6"x12" pieces of varying color cost $79 ...... yikes.
