I hope it's OK to post this in this section. I'm not selling (in fact I bought 2!)
I just saw this deal on a general "hot deal" forum and thought it may be particularly interesting to many of you here.
Here's a new 17" Sharp LCD monitor (without stand) for $75 shipped that should be great for bartop projects:

Got mine today. I guess I didnt read on the site that it was used.
Havent tried it yet. Has anyone else?
-
Just hooked mine up and it has 4 dark spots, each about 1/8" in diameter.
Arranged rectangle in center of screen, almost in line with the 4 bolt holes in the back.
2 of the spots are not real noticeable, but two are. They dont look like dead pixels, because you can see the picture behind the spots.
They are not on outside of screen either, so its not dirt.
Ive sent the company an email, guess we will see what comes of it.
What experiences are you guys having with these monitors?

I looked over the site pretty good and I don't remember seeing anything about them being used either. In fact I could swear it said they were new. The page is gone now so theres no way to tell.

Well, since I started this whole thing, I'm a little embarrassed about how this is going.
I ordered two monitors, but only opened one up last night. It is obviously used, but at least that one is in very good shape. I'll look at the other one tonight.
I don't remember if the web page said "NEW", but I am absolutely 100% certain that it didn't say "USED". In either case, the vendor isn't being completely honest about this.
If my second monitor is as good as the first, I'll keep them and be fairly satisfied for myself.
I hope everything works out for everyone else who bit on this.
I am very sorry that I brought this up in the first place...

Not sure if this is the exact listing, but it looks about right.

Just read the fine print on the archive page:
Products are refurbished and/or used and may have some minor cosmetic blemishes, examples of which are (but not limited to) small scratches on case.

That is the page and you are right.
So much for being absolutely 100% certain. :banghead: I think I'll shut up now.
-
It also says:
Systems are guaranteed to be in excellent working condition and are unconditionally warranted for 30 days from purchase.
-
do they work?
-
Got an email from the company today (very fast response).
They said the monitors are warrantied for 30 days.
There was a fedex return postage sticker in the invoice pouch on the outside of the box.
So they are even paying for the return postage. Very good customer service.
I just got to get it to a fedex drop off point now.
This makes me feel much better. ;D
-
The company refunded my money.
I was hoping to get a replacement, but I guess they are out.
Looks like a good company to do business with.
They answered my email quickly.
Did anyone else order one of these monitors?
Whats you opinion of them?
