my brother-in-law asked me to dj his wife's 40th b-day party in 2 weeks. Since I have the equipment and I'm free he decided to go with me instead of a guy I put him in touch with. Do any of you guys know of any decent free dj software. I'm looking to bring my laptop and 60 gigs of music and just play. I don't want there to be a gap inbetween songs. So is there one that will fade 1 song into the next seamlessly.

Check Mixxx (http://mixxx.sourceforge.net/) at SourceForge, and OpenJay (http://www.openjay.org/)

hey, myntik1, you ever find a free soft that you liked? got any new opinions?

I went with mixsense. It's so easy to use I didn't even have to grab the manual. 5 minutes after I dl'ed it I had my basement jammin. The party got pushed back to this weekend. Thanks to a couple of kind folks on Soulseek my music library has increased from 400 completes to about 700.

Mixsense tried to install adware on my system.

You might want to make sure you run adaware on your system after installing it..

I never checked because it's installed on the pc my juke runs off of, which is basically an old piii that's maxed out in ram. I'll check it out when I get home.

I forget the name, it was SAVE USA or something, but Windows defender caught it, so it can't be that hard to detect ;D

I should have checked before recommending it.
