Doesn't work from here but I get the gist from the url... didn't they actually drop NES support like ten years ago?  You haven't been able to call them for parts or anything in a long time.

Isn't it moot at this point? There are so many other ways (legal and otherwise) to play those games now - even on a TV.

None of them have the hardware timing of an original piece of hardware.  On some games it's very obvious.

My opinion is who cares? There are so many other better and cheaper options to service the NES, that I doubt anyone has used Nintendo's services in over 10 years.

Now, instead of blowing into slots, we can play with our Wii's.

*edit*

Come to think of it my NES still works fine...though I haven't touched it in years.

Still it was aloooooong time before they ended support. So in a way....the original nes died.

Wow. I figured support for the NES ended in the mid 90's. Thats actually pretty admirable that they kept it going this long. There is pretty much a limitless supply of these things. Go to a flea market, and you'll find many of them packed with 15 to 20 games for 15 bucks or so.

They haven't been taking NES units in for repair, or selling parts, for many years now.  I tried to get connectors from them... no dice.  I have no idea what they're talking about when they say "support" just ended.

They kept this guy in the basement to field NES inquiries...

Just curious, which are the NES games that have noticeably bad timing running in emulation?

The one we always cite is Mike Tyson's Punch Out.  I can beat it on an NES... can't even come close on any emulator I've ever seen.
