the same reason everyone crapped their pants when they saw the zelda teaser trailer at e3 a few years back. the same for halo 3, etc. the thought of it being in development is enough.

Since Capcom USA doesn't even have an arcade division anymore, that's a pretty good bet.

The game is a year away. Have you ever been excited for a movie after seeing a teaser that showed virtually no footage from the movie? Same situation.

If it's played on a 6 foot long control pane, then it might not be so bad. ::)
