Title: Wiring a Sanwa JLF to a Donkey Kong cabinet...help?
Post by: Jeff AMN on October 15, 2007, 06:09:27 pm
I want to replace my DK joystick with a Sanwa JLF, but the wiring is a little different. How do I go about it? I know it's commonly used as a replacement, but I've never tried before. Does anybody have any experience on this, or do they know where there's a good guide?

Thanks.

In Neil's DK restoration thread, first page Kaytrim has a post showing the wiring diagram for the JLF: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=70324.0;all

I don't have any experience with DK machines, but the JLF needs a common ground and if that's not possible for some reason then you can cut the copper traces on the JLF pcb and solder directly to the microswitches or take the entire pcb off and replace it with 4 cherry microswitches (I just did this for an Xbox 360 controller w/ no common ground)

Yeah...for a bit I could only walk to the left and would just get pinned into the corner. I just have the wires twisted to the terminals, but they're working. Now I need to go back and solder them all into place.
