Hello guys. Ive been a guest of this site for about a year. Ive always loved games and arcades, and ive always wanted some arcade machines of my own. While in Afghanistan i told myself, im gonna buy me an arcade machine with some of my money i had saved. I got to looking at the price of them and was floored. I then found mame and this website. Since then i have built 1 mame machine with a scarface theme, im still working on my ps2(timecrises)/xbox(HOTD3) shooting cab, i built a small jukebox using sk jukebox, and im almost finished with a slim design of a UA 2 cab that is soul caliber only(dreamcast). I also am about 90 % done with building a pool table but thats a little off topic. I want to thank all the members of the board for the insperation for all this.Ive have seen some great cabs on this site. Keep it up guys. I will post some pics of my stuff in the projects section.

Welcome to the board, you have been really without even joining the board.

A built cab can usually cost just as much as one of those pre-built cabs. But at least you get the fun of building it yourself and get to design it to your liking. Plus the parts you buy are usually better than the knockoff arcade parts that come with those suckily pre-made cabs.
Welcome aboard!

Thanks. In Afghanistan i didnt register because i just didnt have the time. But since ive been home i tried once maybe twice to register and for some reason it didnt work, but know im in. And yes it can cost as much to build a cab as it can to buy one but the mame cab has unlimited amount of games. Also i think i enjoy building just as much as i enjoy playing the games. Also ive framed houses and done carpentry work since i was a kid so i have a little woodworking skills, but they are getting better and better. Once again, there are some awesome cabs on this board.

Pool table? sounds fantastic - wouldn't mind seeing that in 'project announcements'!
