Title: what's the name of the toggle switch to change a DC joystick analog to D-pad
Post by: northerngames on October 14, 2007, 07:20:47 pm
Hi I am wanting to add a toggle switch to my dreamcast controllers I have mounted in my cab's control panel and I already have it wire for D-pad use only.

I am wanting to add a toggle switch where I can also run the analog function by hitting the toggle switch or button.

is it called a 2 position 4 way switch?

or 4 posistion 2 wat switch?

what I am trying to do is add the 4 wire from the joystick's for the main signal and then have the 4 analog signals that run to the control on side a of the switch and then I could push side be and have it swap over to the D-pad signals.

I know I could do it with a db-9 or db-25 switch box but is there something smaller out there that could be mounted on a control panel?

it would need 4 channel input and 2 A/B seperated 4 channel output.

I seen a post here before where it shpwed what I was looking for but I cannot find it no longer and I have totally forgot the correct name of them.

You need a 4-pole 2-way switch, or a 4P2T (or 4PDT).

I installed the 4PDT switch's and they work like a charm and now I can play any dreamcast game I throw at it
