Title: shoot! What did I just do?
Post by: CathalDublin on October 10, 2007, 06:11:38 pm
Decieded to format my HDD in my cabinet and try windows instead of linux, so I left the arcade VGA plugged into my TV via scart/RGB, the windows setup was only displaying half the screen
like screen shot below

So I pressed the power off button<latching switch> on the front of the TV
When I came back in 1hour later I noticed the green power on light was still on the TV.
When I checked it was still powered off, When I plugged out the scart the green light go's off.
Anyway to cut a long story short this somehow seems to have damaged my TV as when I turn it on now the green light comes on but the tv does nothing,no display :(

Things just never go easy for me with monitors :banghead:
Has anyone any Idea what ive blown? :dunno

you may need to connect a pc monitor first to change the settings

a green led shows the tv is working, does the the tv make any noises-like a ticking? and do you get a flash when you switch the screen off

Nope, no flash or noise from it at all.
Just green light comes on, standbye button on the front  that usually makes the green light go red and go into standbybe mode doesnt do anything either

Maybe coincidence but this is very similar to what happened the 1st monitor I had except there was a noise and a flash from the tube when that was turned on
