Hey all...
I'm looking to convert a working CPS II machine to a 4 slot Neo-Geo.
What do I need to do? Am I correct in the following...
1. CPS II A+B board is hooked up to Jamma wiring
2. Remove the CPS II board
3. Hook up the Neo motherboard to the Jamma wiring
4. Re-wire the CP to the corresponding buttons
Some questions though...
How many buttons are on the Neo? 10, right? 4 per player and 2 game selects?
Will there be any other issues that will prevent me from conversion?
Any help would be great. Thanks people.

Go here first: www.hardmvs.com and check out the Jamma vs. Neo Geo wiring as they are different!
The Neo Geo 2, 4, and 6 slot motherboards are NOT Jamma and you'll damage the board (sound amplifiers especially) if you plug one of these Neo Geo boards into a Jamma harness. You'll have to slide out several terminals from the Jamma edge connector and move them to different spots in order to match the Neo Geo wiring standard pinout. Once that's done then you can plug your Neo board into it. However this means now that you can't plug a Jamma board in there anymore.
Remember that only the single slot Neo Geo motherboard is 100% Jamma compatible.

Yeah, hardmvs is the place to check out before trying anything.
As for the buttons, you have 4 buttons per player, one start button per player, and one select button.

Great info guys.
Can I just pick up this adapter and skip all the other stuff?

I don't have any experience with it, but it seems to be legit.

Looks like that adapter will be perfect for you.
