this may need to be in the software forum, but i wasnt sure....
I have created a tool, along with blackaura and nighthammer from the dcemu forums, for people who hack Dreamcast pads to make arcade controllers or to intigrate them into an arcade cabinet environment, basically it is a small self-bootable program that displays a picture of 2 Dreamcast controllers on the screen when started, as buttons or directions are pressed, the corresponding button/direction lights up on the corresponding controller on the screen. This is very helpful for quickly checking solder points and connections to hacked Dreamcast pads via arcade controls. This image is a self-bootable discjuggler 3 image, that works for both PC and macintosh.
The file can be found here

i surely cannot take full credit for this highly useful tool, blackaura did all the programming, nighthammer made i mac compatible and i did the graphics and had the need for the program.
thanx

This is incredibly timely. I just finished my DC pad hack and thought to myself, "I wish there was a program to test the inputs like on a PC." Great idea, great prog!

Ha! I was looking for a program like this a few months back. I'm going to use it soon when we hack up a few of my buddys controlers for a cab we're building :)
Getting the buttons right is pretty easy (unless it's one of thouse cursid multiground controlers), the hard part is desoldering and rewiring the memory card slot :P

im going no where near that part, way to complicated 8)
i had a few things wired wrong, and one hack was fried, thanx to this i sould tell instantly. plus this makes wiring really easy
