Title: Mini racer wheel question?
Post by: gatordad on October 05, 2007, 03:26:48 pm
The TT2 uses  "Standard 1/4" stainless-steel shaft for the widest possible selection of spinner knobs"

Does that mean that the mini racer wheel can be used on other spinners with a 1/4 inch shaft.

I have an Oscar vortex that also has a 1/4 shaft and was wondering?

Steering wheel controls typically have geared encoder mechanisms which give them very high resolution.  This is important for a steering wheel because of the large diameter.  Without the high resolution encoder, the wheel would feel unresponsive or provide poor control by requiring higher sensitivity settings.

So while the wheels may fit onto standard 1/4" shafts, trying to use one on spinners with a lower resolution than the TT2  would probably just result in unsatisfactory game play.
