Title: artwork stuck on plastic laminate
Post by: rockin_rick on October 04, 2007, 10:12:18 pm
I'm thinking of putting some Wilsonart laminate on the sides of my cab and am wondering how artwork would look stuck to the laminate.  I am thinking of using 1595-60 335 matte black.  I suppose the real question is how much texture is on this laminate and will it make the art look bad or not stick well (perhaps since it is only sticking on the tops of texture???).  Is there some other laminate with perhaps a smoother surface?

Thanks,
Rick

I'm wanting to do the same thing.  Hopefully someone has done it before and can help us out.

Anyone have success with this?

Those questions all depend on what material you're going to have your artwork printed on.

I've got laminate on my sides and had my sideart printed from Mamemarquees.com and the material he uses is thick enough that the texture doesn't come through.  :dunno

That's cool.  Do you have a thread that I could check out? Does it have pics in it?

Thanks,
Rick

I picked up a sample piece of 1595-60 from Home Depot.  It's better than I thought it would be.  The texture seems relatively smooth, smoother than I imagined after looking at the pics of it at Wilsonart's website.  Seems like it would be fine.  I may have to try sticking something on it...
