Greetings,
I've just recently built a 4 player CPl;. Originally I had intended to make a 2P oard but after some consideration I built a 4 player board instead. So now I have 2 players working off the PS2 connection and want to program the 3 and 4 players using the USB Ipac2. How can I do this? The documentation isnt the greatest and I havent been able to find an answer with the search function. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Ron

The USB should funtion as a usb keyboard.. telll your IPAC progam you are using your usb IPAC and program it accordingly.
MAME in very recent builds have rewrote the input system to accept multiple inputs as in keyboards / mice etc..
But I always find it easyest to remap all the keys so none of them are shitf,ctrl,Alt,space,+,- Etc...
As many of these keys in button masers case windows to do some funky action.. Of course do your due dilligents ...Make sure stickey keys is disabled... Find the reg twaek to disable Win hotkey.. Turn off baloons ETC..
Id also recommend using GAMEEX as a frontend.

To expand on this:
If you leave the IPACs to their defaults (or map the IPACs but leave them both output the same keys), enable mame's newish -multikeyboard and remap players 3&4 to use the "second" keyboard. (Second in quotes because mame might see the USB keyboard as the first keyboard.)
Or you can map the USB keyboard to mame's default player 3 & 4 keys, and leave -multikeyboard disabled. (I think this is simpler.)
Whatever you do, do NOT do twice the work and remap the IPACs and enable multikeyboard and remap mame.
