Much appreciated wonderboy!!!! This will pretty much make my cab complete ;D ;D ;D
-
wow,it works great.
Maybe now i can finnally finish putting my cabinet together instead of waiting for a way to run Genesis emulator!
Because u r so brainy....do u think its possible to modify zsnesw to run at 321x240 for those running a arcade cab with Arcadevga card?
the esc key modified version runs great but u still get that interlaced flicker
Thanks heaps for Gens AVGA

May look at Zsnes sometime soon, but I give no promises or dates at this point of time.
I use SNES9X, as that allows me to set 256x240x16bit or any other ArcadeVGA available resolution.

Hey, are these custom Gens compiles still hosted somewhere? I'm not able to get through to the server and finally got off my lazy ass to download them today.

The link above still works for me...
Great builds BTW ;D

Thanks heaps for this wonderboy!
Now I can put Gens on my cab and see what all the sega fuss is about. I grew up on Nintendo and never played sega!
You wouldn't happen to have a modified version of VisualBoy Advance that allows you to exit with escape would you?

Oh sure. TODAY it works. ;)

But tonight it doesn't. Seems the GENS FE version zip file is either missing, or named wrong in the html main page. The other two downloads work fine, but not the one I'm interested in :) What luck!

You can set this up using Girder if you don't want to wait for someone to do a built that quits with ESC.
On my system when VisualBoy Advance is started, Girder automatically presses ESC to eliminate the menu bar. Pressing ESC again causes Girder to send an Alt-F4, which quits VisualBoy Advance.
I also use Girder to set relative volume levels for different emulators. For example, Gens is very loud compared to MAME, so when it is launched Girder automatically turns down the volume the correct amount. When Gens quits, the volume is reset to normal level.
Total automation is cool. Girder is your friend.

I was finally able to download the FE version. Whew. Not sure what was going on last night. Quite an ordeal to obtain something I should have a month ago :). Now whats this I hear about MAME 0.68??? ;D

I've been looking at this Girder program and it seems quite complicated. Do you have any example settings or saves i could use for this?
-
Okay, well, I've downloaded and installed Gens FE. Yay.
Now, my problem is, it won't run. I get a white screen. That's it. Absolutely nothing else happens. I can alt-tab out of it, but no roms load. Anyone have any idea?

did u place the GensFE.exe in your existing gens directory?
shouldn't matter eitherway... just wanting to now...

Yup, Gensfe.exe is sitting right beside gens.exe :) I might try reinstalled Gens alltogether, then throwing gensfe in with it again.

hmmm... weird... as its only a keyboard remap, window title change and re-compile
just rename the gens.cfg file and run gens FE. it'll rebuild the default cfg file for you.
My only guess would be that original gens.exe & cfg you have isn't 2.11???

No idea. I'll see if I can remember to check tonight :) I've been more concerned with my busted TV in my cab :(

Hey, the link seems to be down. Is there anywhere else I could obtain a version of GENSFE?
