Title: Best vendor for CP needs?
Post by: drpcken on October 01, 2007, 04:57:02 pm
I'm getting ready to buy my CP items (i have so many questions and concerns ::))and I was certain I was going to use happcontrols.com.  But now I'm not sure.

For my Player 1 and 2 buttons:
happs (http://www.happcontrols.com/pushbuttons/589111l1ply.htm) has them for $2.40 each.
This site (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=73&products_id=241) has them for $1.59 each.
They are both the exact same buttons right???

Should I be using happs?  I want quality buttons all over the board.  I had planned to go with These. (http://www.happcontrols.com/pushbuttons/539200xx.htm)  Any reason why or why not?

Any suggestions of the best place to buy them would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again!

Check out the Buy Sell Trade forum. Look at the stickied vendors at the top. DiveMaster and Ponyboy both supply happs stuff.

Don't buy direct from Happ.  The jack the price up for individuals.  If you want Happ parts get them from GGG or divemaster in the BST forum.  You will save a ton of money and they are the same stuff.  They both get thier stuff from Happ only in bulk so the cost per item is much cheaper.  Then they pass the savings on to you.

Awesome!

I don't know what I would do without you guys!
I orderd my Player 1 and Player 2 buttons to get me motivated :)  I'm starting the cabinet this week and a mockup control panel.

I'm still deciding on joysticks.  Looks like I might go with 2 U360's.   :D

Bar-none, ULTIMARC.

Been uing them for ages. Whilst not cheap, quality is perfect, as is the customer service. Even as a cab builder, I only use Ultimarc for my parts, which my customers really like. Don't scrimp on CP parts, it's what makes or breaks your machine.

Of course I live in England so the service should be great, but from what I understand, Andy trades mostly with US builders.

I've had great luck with 3 vendors.
Ultimarc, Divemaster on our forum, and Tornado Terry (you can find him on Ebay).

Divemaster127 all the way for general items (Happ, Ultimarc etc)

He also carries Ultimarc, and I have to say Andy (Ultimarc) is also awesome, though I bought stuff thru DM mainly.

Spinner thru GroovyGameGear (Turbo Twist 2 + Token Knob)! :)

I got a shipment from Ponyboy not long ago, and it came in a timely fashion, given that it had to go through US/Canada customs.  He also does some great after-purchase support as well.  Would I order from him for whatever my next project will be?  Definitely.
