Title: Project Arcade Book
Post by: deadpool18 on September 29, 2007, 08:58:11 am
Since I'm such a newbie, I decided to order the Project Arcade Book from Amazon.com.   :)

Hopefully the book will help me figure out how to wire a control panel and solder!

Anyway, wish me luck!

The book is very helpful. Some of the info will be a bit dated as new products have been developed since publication, but it will help you gain an overall understanding.

Sounds good! I'm mainly concerned with using a router and wiring.  Everything else I think I can figure out.  :P

Trust me, you'll be fine as long as this site's around. Just about every "situation" is covered here. Either that or there's a ton of people waiting to answer your questions or point you in the right direction. It's a great community!!

Good luck!!

I was a bit hesitant with a router at first too...just get some scrap wood, take your time, and soon you will be comfortable using it. It was not nearly as hard to use as I thought it would be. Just don't get too comfortable as I did...made a couple of boo-boos because I thought I was better than I was... :laugh2:

Wiring is really easy. The book should help a bunch there.

Don't forget to buy the arbor... !

I went to Lowe's and got the slot cutter for my router but didn't realize (learn something new everyday) that it required a special insert to hold it called an arbor.  Well, now I own one.
