The make on the board is Victor Co of Japan
My monitor was working perfect last night
Today the screen was very dull/blurry, after trying another jamma board, I Had to adjust the vhold a little, I accidently turned the hhold which usually results in a high pitch sound and no picture until you turn it back but now it just stays black, if you turn it off and back on now it sounds like its coming on and the screen flashes but then black with no picture
when you turn it off it flashes as usual and zips down to the dot in the center
What could be wrong with it?
I now think the dullness was due to a dodgy jamma psu
I've no idea what make the monitor is but i'll get somepics up if needed
-
broke the pot perhaps?
-
on inspection it looks ok, if I wiggle it should I get something, right :dunno
If thats the problem that is
-
do you get a white screen when you turn up the screen volts on the flyback?
-
Which one is the voltage?
I cant see an option for voltage
above the knob on the right it says screen
and below the one on the right it says focus
(http://i20.tinypic.com/dlkjd3.jpg)
-
the one that says screen
-
I presume clockwise is up, turned it up full and nothing, screen still black, whats that tell ya?
If worst comes to worst do you know of anywhere in europe that if I discharged it and posted it off would have a look at it for me and do a cap kit while they were at it?
It always had a tiny shake in the bottom right that i'd been meaning to fix
-
i know a good monitor tech in the u.k,where are you based?
what chassis is that,i don't recognize it and it looks really old
-
The make on the board is Victor Co of Japan
the date on the board is 1996
I'm in Ireland, but I can Discharge and post
-
victor co are jvc,i ain't never seen that chassis before
the company i have used is D.H leisure(tony) they were based at deith leisure in surrey, england
i will try and get his details if you want
-
you know looking closer it looks a electrohome g07 fco,do have any other markings on it
-
it says jvc on the flyback alright
will check the other markings now
Is it possible to buy a replacement chassis and if so does it need to be the same make/model?
-
i have seen them from time to time on ebay,i reckon a real good idea is pm rickn from neiman displays as he was a tech at electrohome and get him to look at the pic of your chassis to see if he can id it,if this is a electrohome g07 variant then i believe most the parts are still available and it could be an easy repair
-
On one side it says
model number: 38-d04501-v1
chassis: G19aeo
on the other it says
G19-AEO
A76402-31
On the board itself it says GF-1000a
-
It's an Electrohome, but not one I'm familiar with. Contact Rick at niemandisplays.com since he used to work at the Electrohome factory.
-
Yes, JVC/Electrohome. By all means not a G07- speaking from memory D04/G19 were higher res monitors.
I worked with EH between 1980 and1985 and again between 95 and 97.
This monitor was in between. So my experience is limited to nill. But I will check with friends.. if I find more, will let you know.

Thanks lads
From doing a bit of google research, it seems the g19 is a 13" and 19" monitor, mines a 26" though, think this monitor may turn into a lost cause
-
Admin can delete/Lock this
Monitor is going in the bin
Will take some pics of the chassis and upload to some of the monitor identify sites as I havent seen this one on the web before
-
Don't toss it...sell it as non-working for parts. Someone can get some use out of it.
-
I will advertise free to good, and hang onto it for 1month before it get chucked.
but theres not much of demand for this kind of stuff in ireland though
-
Sorry about answering to old post, BUT i got an arcade machine today (Mille miglia 2 , suspect made from parts, not original).
It has the same display as thread starter has. Tube type: 38-d04501-v1. Havent tried the machine yet, because its freezing outside where I live so I'm waiting for it to warm up.
My plan is to leave everything inside, if the game works, and add a laptop inside, which has mame. I also have X arcade dual joystick which planning to mount on the original wheels place. And If I can, use the original sound system and monitor. And leave the option to play the original game...could this be done?
Can i connect my laptop to the monitor with this:
http://www.arcadespareparts.com/arcade_parts/video_converter/vga_rgb_cga_video_converter/12215.html (http://www.arcadespareparts.com/arcade_parts/video_converter/vga_rgb_cga_video_converter/12215.html)
Laptops vga out to that things vga in and monitor circuits 5 leads to this thing, and voila? OR is it not so simple to hookup monitor to laptop?
-
Hopefully you did not bin this monitor, because mine did the same thing, I adjusted the pot net to brightness in chassis to lowest possible, and it made squeling sound and no image in the monitor. After one night picture came back, I suspect this chassis has some protection circuit which takes time to cool down or something.
If you could help me with my monitor problem, have ATI RADEON 9550 Club3d model with crt_emudriver, but I just can't get image to the monitor. here is my thread about it
