Only one more step until my cab is finished!! (Ok, who am I kidding, I know my cab will never be finished, I'll always be adding something here, tweaking something there).
My last problem is getting Dragon's Lair to display properly with the ArcadeVGA card.
I've tried every suggestion on the Daphne board, and Andy's board but I still can't get it going.
I've tried disabling 'Use YUV Flipping' and 'Use RGB Flipping', and converted all my video using 'convvid2daph' but the image is still stretched and I can't see the bottom. I thought I'd post here as anyone who's anyone visits BYOAC and I might get more responses here.
Maybe someone can tell me what version of Daphne I should be using, what settings I should have in Daphne and in my command line with Lazarus, any setting I need in Media Player, or anything else I might be missing.
Thanks guys, and thanks for putting up with all my questions!

arcadevga is based on a ati radeon chipset right?
Check our overlay settings in the display properties, it's very important when it comes to ati cards and daph. Not sure what you need to change though.

If by chance you're using a WG D9200 monitor Andy has a new utility that I believe helps with Daphne.
"This overrides the built-in ArcadeVGA video modes for 640X480 and upwards. This allows the D9200 to display a 31Khz non-interlaced picture at these resolutions. For all Windows versions."

I tried that utility and it just made my screen go crazy. I had to re-install the regular drivers.

on a D9200?
-
I'm not sure what my monitor is, but since the program didn't work I guess it's not a D9200.

If it came in a used arcade cabinet it isn't likely a D9200.

Ya, it's a Neogeo MVS cab. Should I be using XP or 98 for Daphne with ArcadeVGA?

Sorry to be late in mentioning this, but I got Daphne to work after some hair pulling. I'm running Windows 98/ArcadeVGA/Standard res arcade monitor. I use the following command line to run Daphne:
daphne lair vldp -framefile [my framefile] -fullscreen -nohwaccel
Before I used the -nohwaccel, I was getting the half-screen problem you mentioned.

Daphne doesn't officially support Windows 98... Don't know why. Therefore the answer to your question is XP. I use Windows 98 and it seems to work allright.

98 is old and thus doesn't support advanced video playback at the hardware level. In other words if you use 98 it's being jimmy-rigged to run on a os that really doesn't support the system calls. At least that's the dumbed-down explaination. ;) Linux support is slightly better, using more hardware based calls. Frighteningly enough for some of you xp is actually the best choice for this emu.

Ok, I've made a little headway. If I run with -nohwaccel, or with Hardware Acceleration disabled it works great, but crashes when I run it with -nohwaccel and full screen. Anyone know how I can fix this?
-
Sure do, upgrade to XP. :D Seriously.

I'm running XP.

Are you running an ati card? If so then you must upgrade your drivers and daphne. Also if it's a rage 128 series or below then you are out of luck.
