Well... damn, I don't want to pick just one this year! Awesome efforts all!

Agreed, thanks to all for the effort put into -and all who had patience with- this process!!
-
I've always loved the 1up army, but damn Mr. C's designs are just the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- this year.
-
They're all pretty cool, but no offense to Randy, I'd like to keep the MAME logo away from our tokens. That would stop me from purchasing.
-
Much harder choice than I thought it would be. Lots of good choices in both categories, but I can't see some of them working well together so I had to go with consistency.
Great work everybody, any of them would look great if you ask me.
-
Wow Mr C is running away with it. Well deserved, too.
-
Go Mr C. Love those sprockets. I'll definitely have to have a few of those.
-
Ugh. Looks like I might not be getting tokens this year, unless a run of 2006 is also offered.
1800's design for a token to be used in 1970's - 1990's arcade cabinets? Wrong time period, I think.
Don't get me wrong - the design is wonderful, just in my opinion, not appropriate for the application. However, these would look great in a penny arcade situation...
-
Looks like I'll be a two-time jfunk vote loser. I think that is the "awesome-ist" design and I'm very sad to see it losing.

Them's, good Sir, are Fightin' Words! Prepare to engage in fisticuffs!

I don't know about that, they kinda remind me of those token pushers that were in all the arcades. I have a few tokens from the 80's that had a 1800's look to them so it isn't all that unusual.
-
The BYOAC tokens to me are sort of like a BYOAC consensus... I mean, it may not be the one you would choose yourself, but it is of and by BYOAC... that has some importance to me. This rocks.
-
Fantastic job everyone. The designs are simply magnificent. I had to vote for dstone just for the simple fact of,
We are all here trying to relive our past favorite games by "Building" our own arcade machines
We are also trying to "Restore" the past and preserve the classic video games that we all loved at one time.
We are always found playing those video game classics ;D
I will agree that MrC's design is second to none, but it did remind me of the old penny arcades with the gears and the scribing. Also t would be better to have the mame taken off and replaced with the byoac lettering.
No matter the outcome you can count me in for a purchase and I cannot wait till the next token designs to come.
-
Anyone thought of doing a redesigned Mame token? Just curious, while we are all on the tokens subject. ;D

I wanted to mention that there is a thematically matching "FRONT" design (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=71730.0) that I've submitted that does have "BYOAC" written on it. I'm not exactly sure if that's what you're referring to with this statement, but I though I'd mention just in case you hadn't seen it.
Cheers.

No, no, please... not... the comfy chair!

Sorry MrC. I spoke before seeing the front design of the coin. Am I bad, opps. ::) I did notice after posting that the front has the byoac lettering.
Excellent work and craftsmanship in the design.
-
go MrC :)
I wasn't planning on getting any tokens this year. Frankly I have way too many from all the other times. But I like the design that MrC did so much that i'm going to be forced to buy again :)

Me too. And I think you can just start voting now for the MAME tokens using the remaining designs. I can't remember seeing such a strong batch of entries! Even though this thread is for backs, can't you see RandyT's and jfunk's sides together on one MAME token?

I agree those are two solid designs for a MAME token. 8)

Hmmm. Is the voting broken? I can't submit my vote.

Same here. IMO it is so far beyond anything we've minted before it's a must buy. First time I'm not voting for my own design. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: That is... if I could vote. ;)
-
Voting ended yesterday PH ::)

:-[
Oh.... you mean that sept 30!! :banghead:
Funny tho... I was able to vote for the front. ??? Ah, well. Guess it's a moot point. :) All the same tho- GO MR. C!!!
-
Sigh...
Please offer a re-run of 2006 tokens!!!
-
Man, you're a real downer. Can't you give a dude one day, before you cramp his style? :P

Quit yer yappin' - you won!
Seriously though, Congratulations, it really is a well designed token...

I love it. Just hope the detail doesn't get lost in the stippling. If only we could get rid of the stippling >:D
-
OK, we have our winner. (Congrats MrC on an incredible design.) I am going to lock this thread and continue the discussion of next steps in the "Front thread"
Mods, please unsticky this one.. Thx.
