To my Dutch friends here (or anyone else in the neighborhood):
On october 7th I will be taking my Galaxian No.815 to the "Retrocomputerdag" at Schiedam. I will display it there and of course it can be played by everyone. I will also be running pictures from the restoration, also of my other machines.
SO if you'd like to see/play it, or just meet up, come over, it's a really nice fair, snacks and drinks are cheap and entrance is free !

Opens from 12:00 til 17:00.
Hope to see you there !

The fair was really succesful !!!
The moment is was rolling in the cab, I got my first serious offer for it !!
About three more offers were mentioned throughout the day, but of course this baby is not for sale :D
Couple of pics:
The guys who had organised the fair had borrowed this luxury transport for my Galaxian :D
It actually drove a lot better than it looked :)
AND the cab fits in perfectly, even though there is a passanger part in this van. When I went to first get the Galaxian about a year ago, I used a Volkswagen Transporter (really new one) and the cab did NOT fit with the door shut...but it still got here safely..
Anyway pictures:
-
1) Great to see the younger guys into the classics :)
2) I didn't have much time to take pictures, lots of questions and people playing. The cab performed flawless from 11.00 till 17.00 hours...

I've GOT to let you see these pics as well, although not arcade related:
Did you ever see this ??

Nice !!!!!!!
Last picture: I saw this and instantly thought about my good friend DarthNuno. Dropped him an SMS message, but he already had this Dragon's Lair for NES (or course :) )....

Looks like you and the other visitors really had fun there. I didn't have time to get there myself unfortunately.
-
Did you have it set to Free Play? If not, did you make millions of dollars? ;)
-
Well first of, my cab is running on the great old (but now abondoned) Dutch Guilder. The good thing about this is that the coins are worthless now, so they act great as tokens.
However, the entrance to this small fair is free, with a "community" feeling, so yes, people could play for free.
I didn't set it to free play though, I just hit the coin-up button a good 40 times. Had to do that a couple of times during the day.....
It's fun to see people enjoy the game (especialy people who's age is less than the cab :) ) and even more fun to get people asking about it, talking about it, and the occasional guy who serious offered money for it.... :D
I also hope to warm people for this hobby (even though it would mean more competition on the Dutch market ;) )...but most people said they would love to have a cab like this, but have no space for it....

It's really a whopping 80km away from where I live :o By dutch standards that's on the other side of the world :P

What city would that be ? To give you an idea, the province of Utrecht is about the size of London....Holland may be small, but it's not THAT small :D
