Title: Game resolution with WG D9200 and AVGA
Post by: PileOfMonkeyCrap on September 17, 2007, 09:48:35 am
I'm new to using an arcade monitor with MAME since all my prior cabinets had s-video TVs installed.  However I just bought an entire cabinet setup off of Craigslist from someone who is moving.  I'll be selling my current cabinet and keeping this one.  Here's the specs :

Slikstik control panel w/ 360 optical sticks and stainless steel handles
Skikstik arcade cabinet (still had protective plastic film on the cabinet)
Wells Gardner 9200
Dell P4 2ghz with ArcadeVGA 9200 card

Total $750.  Heck of a deal.

Over the weekend I installed MAME32 .117 and the full ROMs collection.  Ran the resolution utility for creating the .ini files for each ROM.  All the games I tried are displaying fine with the exception of a few games such as Shuffleshot and Golden Tee.

What steps do I need to take to be able to display those games?  Currently those games give a black screen only.

I've been searching and reading old posts, but there's so much info out there and getting overwhelmed.

Thanks.

Try manually setting the resolution to 401x256, 384x288, or 392x240 for those two games.  They use uncommon resolutions (384x255 and 384x240).

PoMC, what resolution utility did you use to create custom .ini files? I'm going to have to do that at some point as well... Can't wait to get it all running smoothly! :)
