First off, here's a fair review of it from someone other than myself:
http://ds.ign.com/articles/819/819153p1.html
I agree with the points they make, but I think they sort of bypassed one element.
This definitely isn't a hardcore game, no way....but where I feel it succeeds is in letting the user create their own hero. For instance, the hero I created when I was a kid is now running, jumping, etc. through the worlds of the game. Because I drew it,knowing what he's supposed to look like, he looks damn great. And that part is FUN for me (kid at heart sorry)....because this time it ain't Mario, or Luigi, or Link....it's MY creation saving the day.
I think a 7.9 is more than fair, (possibly a little high until you realize the DS is the only unit out right now that could handle this game) but obviously the emphasis was placed on making sure the player drawn character's moves were as good as possible. I wouldn't say every aspect of that is perfect, but they sure gave it their all.
....and because I'm selfish and would love to see Drawn to Life 2, with better graphics and more intense gameplay, I'm giving it a little "push" here....or trying to! ;D

i made my character a naked chick with boxing gloves and pumps :laugh2: but to me the game got boring... i only played a couple levels of the snow place and it seemed way to kiddish to me (and thats hard to do)

At this initial stage, it is very "kiddish." As I said above, this is NOT a hardcore gamer's game by any stretch - not yet, at least. However, if they came up with a better story and far better character drawings, you might see it become a sleeper hit. Like I said, I want to see it do well enough for a second outing....there's a lot of promise in the idea, I think, but again for most of you it may not hold any appeal due to it's overly cutsie characters and very simple platform gameplay.
Of course, for the wimps, like myself, after a rousing hour of Metroid 3, Drawn to Life's simplicity is more a blessing than a curse! ;D

I bought it for my girlfriend today, I'll see what she says about it.

My 4 year old and i played the thing together yetesterday for about an hour and a half, so we're getting into the true heart of the story (way past snow scenes). It now becomes apparent that you can have up to 3 heros designed and ready for combat. You also design your own platforms, weapons, etc.
The platforms and weapons are pretty basic and so you are not given a lot of artistic freedom in creating your own. The story so far is pretty good - at least it's compelling enough to encourage us to see what happens next.
Acid, all I gotta say man is that must have been a :censored: when your character got hit for the third time and her chest blew off (the character is taken further and further back down to its initial manneuquin state with every enemy hit). :laugh2:

I made Master Chief as my character... I tried a naked lady, but I was worried my son would see it, so I deleted her.
Very easy game... I lost interest in only a few levels.

lol well by the time her tits blow off the rest of her is all messed up so good riddins :laugh2:
i found it neat that after being hit once her boxing gloves blew off completely... its like the game knew!

Cute little game. My wife will get a kick out of it. And for the record, I made my guy the gingerbread man from Shrek.

Is Stingray even still around? He used to be the one we went to with our dead hookers.
