Title: Help with Mala startup options
Post by: TexFlood on September 16, 2007, 02:54:52 pm
I've been looking around here for a few hours and can't seem to find the answer to what is probably a simple prob.

When I open Mala the first screen lists the following options:

Control
Genre
Manufacturer
Players
Year

How do I get rid of this filter menu?
If I use my Mala Tree configuration this menu will appear after I navigate down through my configured menus.  :banghead:

I accidentally got myself in this situation in the past.  I couldn't get out of it either so I just restored a backup config.  Sorry man.  Have you emailed the author?

You have switched on the game list 'browse' mode. Switch it off and your lists will look normal again. You can find this toggle in the MaLa menu in the gamelist node. (Browse: On/Off)

I've looked through the menus in Mala and I can't find the Browse checkbox that you are referring to.  I've attached screen shots where I thought they would be.  Can you give me a little more help with the location of that switch?

I don't think its in the options menus.  I know you can change it in the Main Menu:

Press 2 (or whatever key you have mapped to open the menu)
Select Game List
Change Browse to NO

Or change the line Browse=1 in the file mala.ini to Browse=0

Awesome - that's the answer.  I found it both in the mala.ini file as well as by pressing 2 when I opened Mala.

Thanks SGT & Swindus!

I'll put that in the Wiki.
