I bought a Donkey Kong Cab a few month ago that I plan to restore. I been searching the forum looking at examples and project announcements, gathering information and parts. I noticed a lot of people own, restored or are in the process of restoring a Donkey Kong cabinet. I just wanted to know,
WHO OWNS A DONKEY KONG CAB?
Jeff AMN, Markrvp, Saint, dstone, spacies, leapinlew, more cowbell, frizzlefried, Neilyboy,Frog, Nostalgia, hatrick, audiomidiman

I have one that I restored:

Saint has a Double Donkey Kong board in a DK cabinet.
I think a Donkey Kong is a requirement for any classic arcade game room. 8)

Nothing, i was just curious how many members have one. Maybe we can start a club, get matching shirts with our names on it :P.

I've got two (no DK boards though), a blue one and a red one. The red one currently has my Mario Bros setup in it; I'm working over the blue one (sanded down to bare wood and going to repaint red) to move the Mario boards into it. I was told the red one was a Nintendo VS red cabinet and not a DK (it did have VS side art on it), but it has a DK s/n plate and a DK sticker on the PCB cage, so who knows.

I have scratch built a few.
-
I have a DKjr that I am converting into a DK Multi Kit. It will have DK, DK2, DK3, and DKjr with the Double DK kit, all switchable through the coin door.

I have had a couple. I have gotten the art from Twisted Quarter. I usually go with a Mame setup.

Search "Project Announcements". Should be a few in there.

I have a Double Donkey Kong Plus (running the 4-way and 2-way games of a 48-in-1) and a Nintendo VS Unisystem currently with Excitebike in it...

I have a blue DK. It is a MAME right now until I get another cab. Anyone have a Nintendo cab in the Milwaukee area they want to let go / sell. I want to build a different MAME and put the DK back to original. I think it only needs a cap kit to fix the monitor. The screen took a half hour to warm up, really dark at first then after it was warmed up but still a little dark the left side of the picture would flicker. The game worked when I took it apart. Years ago some moron told me you can fix it. His quote was "It's not like you can put a new monitor into an old game like that. Use it until it breaks and throw it out" Thinking I couldn't fix it and learning about MAME, well you get the idea.

I have one. Just finished a restore. Its one of my favorite games. If you have any restore questions, PM me.

I don't have a cabinet (there were no dedicated DK cabinets imported to New Zealand) but I play the game a lot, can I be in the club too?!

Document your switcher! I'm seriously thinking of building one with the new ROMs that are out...

What the hell is Donkey Kong 2?
P.S. Donkey Kong 3 is poop
-
Someone said Donkey Kong poop.
I just saw the D2K. I'm impressed. I have the foundry level for my MAME, but I didn't know about this.

Is this still a upgrade, like the foundry and high score save?

I've got a red Radarscope cab that is half converted to Mario Bros. Awaiting testing a MB PCB set I have laying around here for months.....sigh......
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=62884.0
dstone, got any pictures of your red MB ?
I keep having mixed feelings about this cab. There is a strong feeling that I must make this a DK cab. The fact that the monitor is still in vertical position doesn't help :D

I just picked up a DK to restore last weekend.
I've already started tearing it down and will hopefully be putting a cap kit on the monitor this weekend.

I just restored one back in the early part of the year. I have a Double Donkey Kong upgrade but am trying to figure out HOW to get both a Donkey Kong PCB and a Donkey Kong Jr. PCB running at the same time so I can run D2K http://jeffsromhack.com/products/d2k.htm

I built one for scratch (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=60545). I scaled mine down a little since it was for my kids room, but I'm still really proud how it turned out. It was really fun to build.

I'll be watching that project as well. I'd love to do one of those with Jeff's D2K art.
