Title: Extra button wiring?
Post by: Den on March 15, 2002, 06:14:56 am
Is the "Capcom CPS II Auxiliary Cable" found on http://www.mdgamesales.com/PCBCapcom.htm the same thing as the extra button wiring harness mentioned on http://members.aol.com/CMull11217/private/cps2faq.txt?

Assuming that it is (which I don't know), would I need 1 or 2?

I don't know... what are you doing?

I don't have one and I don't need one.

You shouldn't need one (or have the ability to use it) if you are converting a capcom jamma cabinet to jpac

Hi Lilwolf, I have a Street Fighter 2 Turbo Championship Edition machine (old school Jamma) and am trying to convert it to Street Fighter Alpha 1.

SFA1 is a CPS2 system so it requires a different type of wiring harness for the extra buttons to work.  My question is if those auxiliary cables on mdgamesales are the ones that I need for the problem.

Yes that's the cable you'd need to wire the extra 6 buttons (3 per player) for Street Fighter type games.  However, $20 is robbery, look on ebay and use mdgames as a last resort.
