Title: extending / replacing the tube wire (PCB > Suction Cup)?
Post by: ARTIFACT on September 11, 2007, 07:34:05 pm
I may be decasing (and discharging!) my beloved multisync 27" monitor in order to mount everything "correctly" in my cab.

The thing is, this monitor has A TON of PCBs... See pics in my project thread if you're curious.

All the PCBs are plugged together... I ASSUME that the tube itself is plugged via the 1 thick cable + suction cup. This wire is SHORT... How do you guys move your PCBs around your cab with such short cables inside the monitor?

Is it possible to extend the wire(s) connected to the tube, and should I do that?

If I could do that, it would make the solution a lot easier to design (place PCBs neatly inside the cab, position the tube exactly how I want it, etc.

THANKS

you would need to construct a mounting plate out of metal or wood,do not try to extend the ht lead
