Title: Broken trigger on act labs gun
Post by: drunkatuw on September 10, 2007, 01:17:18 pm
I have the original act labs pc gun (tv-out version, not the GS model), and the plastic trigger snapped in 2.  I contacted act labs to see if they by chance had any old inventory laying around and here was their response:

Unfortunately the original vendor has bankrupted and due to immature law system in China, we lost the original tools and we do not have any trigger for replacement.

I tried gorilla glue and I thought it was pretty good, but after about 10 pulls on the trigger it snapped again.  Anyone have any suggestions to fix this?  I thought about trying to use a pin or needle similar to rebar to strengthen the gorilla glue joint, but wasn't sure if it would work or not, although I've got nothing to lose.

Or, anyone by chance have a broken/old act-labs gun and wouldn't mind selling me the trigger?  I don't like the idea of paying $100 for a new act-labs gun when I bought mine for $39.99 (which I think is a very reasonable price).

A plastic glue might work.  Some plastic glues litterally melt the plastic and fuse it to the other piece.  I don't know much about the types of plastic vrs the type of glue but  you might find something in a hobby shop or the model building area in a craft store.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try to swing by hobby lobby on the way home from work.  I guess I just assumed that gorilla glue made the strongest bond possible.
