I'd love to take a look but waiting 3 weeks for the site to load is not really heating my nads.
-
Was mere seconds here ... gotta love those big green buttons ... :banghead:
-
Apollo,
Not sure why you are getting it slow. Are you on dial up?
Try it again maybe?
Brent
-
No, I'm on something like 10MB/S ADSL I'll try again.
-
Brent,
One of the cabinet on your site (the one with two steering wheels) is not a conversion from hell, it's a scratch built one, and a very nice one at that.
See here: http://arcadegames.home.mindspring.com/driving/
That guy was actually on of my inspirations when I was planning to build my cab. Nice unique designs and workmanship.
Nice site otherwise.
-
I've seen quite a few of these on other sites. There's some that I haven't seen though. A steering wheel on a Star Wars upright? :dizzy: Blasphemy!
-
OH GOD! It got worse!!! A cockpit Star Wars with a joystick and multi-button control panel! :hissy:
-
hbm*rais,
Thanks, I didn't really look at that one. I just removed it from Hell!!!!
>:D
If anyone has any pics to add, send them to me.

Worst conversion next to the star wars one mentioned above was the Tapper to SF2..
-
There was another Star Wars conversion...to Aliens.
-
Is it random? I wanted to see all of them but I kept getting ones I've seen with an occasional new one mixed in.
That's a decent collection of trashy conversions. For a good collection of conversion cabinet photos check out THIS PAGE (http://www.hardmvs.com/images/conversions/) on HardMVS.

I'd never seen that page either. I own (or have owned) 24 of those systems. I also have an X-Eye (gen/sega CD Hybrid) and another pong system that's not on there.
-
LOL
I have a couple good ones at the local arcade that I'll photograph and send you. One is a Gun Fighter cabinet complete with original artwork converted to a Police Trainer (hey at least they kept the same theme :laugh2:) and the other appears to be a really old quiz type game converted to a vertical shooter game (strikers or something).
-
Yes the pics are random, so you may see some of the same ones. I have added alot just now so keep checking it.
Yes, please send me those pics when you can!

You can now see all of the pics on one page without having to click through them ramdomly.

I think I prefer it that way.
Some of those are just so wrong while quite a few really weren't bad conversions (but they're still conversions). Q*Bert's Qubes almost made me cry. And what is this thing:

Test bench maybe? If so it's nowhere near as cool as this one (found on this page (http://www.andys-arcade.net/personal/unusual/index.htm)):

Mechanized Attack indeed...

I think I'm going to be sick... :dizzy:

You need an XEGS ;D
Also, isn't the tubular cab someone's scratchbuilt MAME project?
I just don't recall where I've seen it before.
-
You must really dislike this one. It is listed twice.

How about this for a goofy dual-wheel conversion instead (this was at the Dayton, OH auction in May):

The one that really gets me is the Ms. PacMan in the Computer Space....
-
As promised, a couple more good ones. I'd really like to know what cabinet that Strikers used to be. Never seen anything like it.
-
Very sad indeed... :'(
