I don't want to get into too much of a discussion about this because it may not be appropriate here.
Has anyone ever tried to wire the disc drive out of the cube and wire it to the PC for easy game backing up?
-
Since the Wii also reads Gamecube discs and I understand the chip mods piggyback on the drive controller, would it be easier and more appropriate to see if someone is working on or has done as such with the Wii drive instead?
-
Even easier than that. Get an LG 8164 dvd drive and a program called Raw dump 2.
-
I read about how the GC drive reads discs is mostly what causes problems in making backups. I would think if you had the actual drive on your pc that would solve that problem.
-
What Hoagie_one said. For whatever reason, that LG drive (there are a couple more too) is one of the few drives in existence that can read and rip GC and Wii discs. It's like $17 at newegg.

I ordered mine here...

So you can use that drive to copy your Wii games that you own and play the backup in the drive without a mod chip?
-
You still need a modchip.

Thanks for that link about the drive Mamemaster. I also found this on the site and i must say this site is really trying to rip off customers on games prices.

yeah well if for some reason you don't know $64.99 is too much to pay for any game...let alone Kirby's air ride, well sorry you had it coming.
