Do not know anything about "Sega Genesis emulator" but if it has a setting related to sync on green, check that.

Unfortunatley there is no sync to green option on the gens emulator..i think it might be my actual monitor though because i tryed switching to the onboard display as apposed to using my graphics card and the monitor is still the same. It may be my vga cable or my monitor is messed up now... Thanks for the reply though cheers mate :)

This can happen if the cable is loose (as all the pins don't connect), but since you've tried this with a different video card that's probably not it. The cable could be bad, but it is odd for that to happen out of nowhere.

It may be that the monitor was going bad, and the emulator just gave it that little push over the top?

But, sometimes weird magnetic fields can throw things off (unshielded speakers for example), which will also give you that green colour. Try to degauss the monitor, and also look for a reset button. Lastly, it never hurts to sit things unplugged for a few hours, just to let them discharge. Just a shot in the dark :)

I have tryed leaving the monitor off for a good 12hrs but unfortunatley no change.. I will have to try and degauss the monitor im 100% sure its not the vga cable now. Your right though i beleive the emulator gave it that last pushoff, its not egsactly a new monitor i got it in 03 but i did expect it to last at least 6 years :( thanks for the help :)

Do you have another monitor you can hook up?  This will at least tell you if it is the monitor or not.

Ill have to wait till monday untill i can test a new monitor on it hopefully its a minor problem i dont want to have to buy a degaussing wand or open this thing up either..  Ive had a bad week with this stuff just yesterday a feckin cd exploded in my dvd cd-r drive messed the thing up this is goin to set me back a few more bucks and set my project back a week or two..:(
