Title: WHO SELLS IPAC 4 PLAYER IN usa?
Post by: GroovyTuesdaY on April 29, 2003, 02:59:06 am
I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies selling the IPAC 56 input  here in the unit ed states?
I noticed that GCI offers the 2 player version but i didnt see a 4 player version on their site.

Why not just order one from Andy? When you order from a US vendor you are just paying extra to get one from a reseller. It still came from the same place.

Yeah, he's right. I ordered an Ipac from GCI and they charged me $9 shipping and it took a little over a week to get here. To put that in perspective I've had a monitor shipped for $20 and it got here in appox. 22 hours (the monitor only had to go about half the distance but still...) And a coin door shipped for $7 get here in two days (pretty close to same distance as GCI this time.)
So you might as well just order direct.

Also. I would be wary of any vendor who doesn't understand his own products. The I-Pac is an ENCODER, not an emulator. An emulator is a piece of software.

Also, those Testimonials from his customers are obviously fake. Real people don't talk like that.

Checking out the newsgroups about Game Cabinets Inc shows nothing but spam, lies, and solictations for cracked software.

Looking for crack!

errr, it's hard to keep  secret, all I can say is there will be a US distributor where the prices are decent.  However, the last I was told Andy was still trying to organize it.  The distributor is ready for it.  But hey, for now there is the keywiz that's in the US :)

Oh, give me a break.

You've got 2 threads from the same foul-mouthed creep (who, if you read his posts, obviously has some serious issues) and one post where the guy is asking about cracked software.

Yes, lets nail him to a tree for that.

To be honest with you, I had great service ordering an IPac from him.  I don't have a credit card, so I sent him a money order, and I had the IPac in my hands exactly one week to the day after I mailed the money order...and I am in Canada.  I can't ask for better service than that....

Other concerns about the individual put aside, calling a keyboard encoder a "keyboard emulator" is not an incorrect use of the word.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=emulator (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=emulator)

A keyboard encoder board without firmware (hard coded software) can't do a thing.  The magic is in the code, and that code causes the circuit to behave like, or emulate, the functions of an actual keyboard.

It is interesting to note that Game Cabinets Inc is listed as a commecial supporter of the BYOAC website.  There is a link which if used gives a portion of a purchase to BYOAC.  It is doubtful that a scammer would support this forum in such a way.

Actaully, it really doesn't matter which term you use, they are both correct.  Emulator doesn't mean it has to be software, where is that written?

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=emulator
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=encoder

Both definitions actually work for the ipac.

Yeah, all you see on those posts is people being jerks and putting the guy down for no good reason.  It really isn't spam.  Spam is forced upon you like in email and popup ads.  If oyyou had a product that helped someone with their problem you'd tell them about it too.
Plus the people at alt.game.mame are hipocritical.  they put down new comers saying they ride the coat tails of mame but support hanaho.
