Hey, I've got a new monitor problem to throw at you guys. I have a freshly recapped G07 with great looking colour and clarity. My only problem is that I noticed the screen starts squishing near the bottom. Anyone have any clues. The G07 has an RCA tube in it, so I am wondering if someone may have done a bad tube swap in the past? Any other suggestions.

Adjust the width coil to shrink the picture inwards a bit then recenter the picture with the horizontal hold/freq control.

Hi Ken, thanks for the response. :) I just wanted to confirm that we are talking about the same thing. I have a vertically mounted G07, but when I refer to top and bottom, I mean top and bottom as if I were looking at it horizontally mounted :P
Anyways, there is some cutoff on the edges that I know I can fix by adjusting the horizontal width, but my real fear is the squishing occurring near the bottom of the screen (again looking at it horizontally). I first noticed it when I tested Ms Pacman, but I tried a horizontal game, and also noticed that it too squishes near the bottom. Here are some blowups of Ms Pacman that emphasize this.
Ms Pacman near the top of the screen (unsquished):

Ms Pacman near the bottom of the screen (squished):

Both Ms Pacman and the maze are substantially squished near the bottom.
Any insight you can give would be great! Thanks for making this board an awesome resource to use :applaud:

Hey, thought I would add a few more pics in case someone has any ideas. Again, I have a feeling that this problem is more than just adjusting the width coil (as the squishing occurs near the bottom of the screen, not the sides).
Here is a shot from SF2. Notice how the screen starts to squish in around the area where you select your player:

Here is a shot of a test screen. Notice how the squares become much more squished near the bottom of the screen:

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Perhaps I missed it, but have you tried adjusting R406- the vertical Linearity control??? What does it do for you?
After that you may have to move the vertical centering jumper.
