Happ Ultimates are on sale for $6.99
Why does everyone piss on the ultimate and love the super. It seems to me like the only difference is the shorter thicker shaft.... hmmm ...
I actually like the Ultimate with the soft spring myself.

It's the actuator, I think. When I had Ultimates, the diagonals were far too sensitive, to the point that simple games like Venture were almost impossible to play! Even selecting from menus was a challenge... I've been far happier since I put Supers in.

Hmm it seems like people that play the Capcom games don't mind but for 4-way gaming it may be less desired.

It's not just a 4-way problem. The supers and the ultimates have a completely different feel. I've got both and i FAR prefer the Supers. The ultimates are just too easy to hit the diagonals, even when you don't want to. Also, the Supers seem to feel more "sturdy" without really having a stiffer spring. Not sure why this is, but they feel better to me, even not counting the diagonal problem.

Could be... I never play any Capcom fighting games, and I rarely play anything that was released after 1985...

You know what, all of the "expert playas" at work don't mind the Ultimate so that's where I'm confused.
I'm working on getting used to the Sanwa bat for Street Fighter III.

It's the last day of the sale.
You don't grip on the shaft so I don't know why it matters. It's the feel of the actuator down under.

Doggone it! NOW I find this thread. Sale is over. :(

normal long thread horizontal buttons are still $.99 on sale...
