Hi,
I am in the process of trying to get a multi-sync arcade monitor and I asked this one seller about warranty length and he said that the only thing covered by a monitor warranty is the cost of parts and that the cost of getting the parts shipped and the labour to do it is at the cost of the buyer.
Is that true? If so that is RIDICULOUS. So I can get a monitor and it dies with a week and now I have to shell out money to get it to work? My goodness.

normally 30 days full warranty in the amusement industry in europe

that is true after your store warrenty expires or your extended policy plan expires.
The labor and shipping cost of the parts needed are extra but if it is a tv repair shop the shipping cost part is iffy and can go eitherway.
but if you buy an extended warrenty plan that cost extra most offer parts/repair/shipping/ and in-home service where they come to you.

Some Distributors have different rules????
Our monitor comes with a standard 1 year warranty. You pay to ship the board to us, we fix it usually same day, run it overnight and pay to ship it back.
You can do this through your distributor or with us direct
There are of course exceptions such as Physical damage, unauthirized repair or modifications or if the monitor was originaly sold to a game manufacturer.
Because they may have negotiated price based on volume and shorter warranties- their warranty applies
We build the monitor and we service what we sell.
Most of our competition import the monitor and a lot of times the only gut that touches it is whoever loads it on the truck.
I think the guy who originally posted this already knows this as I have been contacted by a guy with the exact same story and he will be coming to the factory to buy from us direct.
I am posting this for the benefit of anyone else that read this post.
Good Luck in any case

heheh, yeah and to get some publicity I guess :)
Which I don't mind...
Rick, since you're building monitors, wouldn't it be possible to build a Vector ?
The electronics PCB's are simpler than regular monitors and the only really different is the winding of the yoke....
Please ??

Yeah I come to the forum for publicity, to help and to see what is going on.....
I do not mind helping with anything I can.
Anyway here is the scoop on the vector monitor question:
- When Electrohome did the G08, it was a nightmare, I cannot even re-call how many engineers, reworks at the factory and everywhere else.
- Electrohome being what they were then ( a very responsible and professional company) had the resources to step up to the plate and fixed the problems. After all right then there was a huge demand for the X-Y monitors, so pay off would come.
- In today's world, it is getting harder and harder to get tubes ( factories are closing left and right. Same with deflection yokes. In order to get tubes and yokes, I would say a minimum comitment of 20,000 to 30,000 units. Plus at least $30,000 in tooling.
Pretty hard pressed to find that much in sales for X-Y monitors these days.
I get the same question every few month's, last guy coined it right when he said:
" Count me in as customer number 1, I will give you a shout when I have another 19,999 behind me"
Thanks for the feed back.
