What do you think? there is a lot of black boarder so it fits inside the marquee area without having everything cut off.
Sorry for the size of the marquee, that's photo bucket's fault

I'm not a big fan of the huge character montage. It's just too busy. I'd cut down on the number of characters you have in there, maybe focus on your favorite games / time period or something.
Even if you ignore the last statement (which is cool, it's your marquee after all, if you dig it - that's all that matters), Space invaders looks completely out of place compared to everything else.
Before you print, find out how much of your marquee is going to be covered by the retainer or whatever you are using to mount it, and resize it to fit. I think it will look much better if your artwork stretches to max, and you have to cut off a small portion of artwork, rather than have the black border. Either that, or design a more integrated border that protects your character art, while allowing you some wiggle room for trimming.

3 recommendations, ignore as you see fit...
1) Move the text to one of the sides (left would be my preference)
2) Add some flying things like joust birds and/or Galaga targets
3) As Zero_Hour mentioned, get rid of the Space Invaders image. It seems out of place.
I too am not a big fan of the character colage, but I can see why some people like it.
Where are you going to have it printed?

I'm going to use Mame Marquees
And the guy won't be back from vacation for awhile, so I am in no hurry.
I'll look for a better invader's graphic, i was a little unsure of it
Did no one notice the metroid sucking homer's brain?
I have been test printing (and i have to put together the latest test print). Basically there is more black on the bottom then the top, so only about 1/4" of black is on the top. It's a tiny bit annoying, but I can't really stretch the image much more without distorting it.
I'll play around a little more

The Size of the image is a little smallish, so I missed the metroid. But now I can see it since you pointed it out. Nice touch. :P
What are you using to do the design with? What you actually would want to do to get things closaer to the borders would be to scale it. Usually, at least in the apps I've used - when scaling, pull from one of the corners while holding down the shift key, to keep the aspect ration. That way you won't get any stretching/distorting of the characters.
Instead of the whole Space invaders playfield, maybe put the mothership somewhere across the upper section of the marquee.
