Just connected up my arcade monitor (15khz hantarex polo/3) to my ArcadeVGA card and I can't get a steady picture. It seems no matter what I do with the h and v sync pots, the screen still rolls like crazy and wobbles all over the place. The h and v sync pots seem ultra ultra sensitive... am I doing something wrong? The best I've managed to get is a really slowly rolling image (vertically) but with still a degree of horizontal wobble.
please help! :(

Perhaps your pots are dirty and need replaced.
Does the polo/3 have the removable and/or extendable adjustment board (like the polo)? Perhaps try removing and reseating/reconnecting the board/cable.

its something to do with the sinc signal from the avga card, either its not set correctly or the sinc connection is wrong

Hi
Yep I've just checked and the sync pins are connected wrongly... phew, thought I was gonna have to send the monitor back to Hantarex!
Cheers

Is this a common problem?

I have the same problem (constant rolling). How do you check if the pins are connected correctly?

Look near the bottom of this page, it shows the VGA pin layout: -

So if I'm using a J-Pac then this wouldn't apply to me?
I'm using the cable that was send with the J-Pac.

Oh...or do I have to create my own cable then? Sorry, trying to understand this and the brain just doesn't want to work...

Hmm I'm not sure. Best email Andy at ultimarc. He's a very helpful chap :)
