Here is my cab

Here is a pic of the same cab modded with the trackball where I want it.

It looks like he removed his coin slots to get the plate to mount, I do not want to do this, I want my coin slots.
What are my options here? I can give measurements if needed.
There are many trackballs with this layout

Would this trackball without the top plate work with my cab? I have never installed one before, The die hard cabinet is made of thick plastic btw, dont know if that matters or limits my options.
Lastly, What track ball / hook ups do I need to hook this into my cab, I seen the mouse hacks and such and thats creative and all but just want to buy the easiest setup possible, I do this for the games not the invention side.

This Might be my ticket right here... Looks like it would just mount like my joysticks do from the top is this correct? And from the sounds of it I can just plug this straight in USB and MAME away..?

As long as there's room under the control panel for the coin slots and the trackball mech, you're fine. Keep in mind that that trackball's mounting screws go in a diamond (N E S W) rather than a square (NW NE SE SW). I think anyway...

Look at Buy/Sell where you will find the same item for alot less then Happs charges.
It will still be a tight fit what about a smaller trackball?

Well Boba, I know 3" is the standard and I have played with those, I have never used/seen a 2 1/4 in person so I don't know if it would be just as good or not.. Judging by the dimensions it knocks off about .75-.85 of an inch in both Length and width, I have to grab the measure tab and see what I am working with..
Ok I have I basically have 5.5" Length and 7" width..
Judging by the diagram without modding into my coin slots I am about .3 in. short of the 3" ball.. The 2 1/4 is only 4.5inch radius so that should fit nice and smooth.. Hopefully the size of the ball doesn't disappointin performance ..

Looking at your cabinet, have you consider getting a coin door instead. The metal blank door that you have at the bottom can be taken out and a coin door can take it's place. This would free up quite a bit of room. The replacement coin door would just be your over under Happ coin door.
