I bought some casters for my cab and ran into a little problem. Theres a a deep recess at the bottom so the wheels wont reach the ground. I thought about screwing some 2x4's on the bottom and attaching the wheels to those, but then again will the 'floor' of the cab support its weight? I want wheels but not bad enough to damage the rest of the cab.. Any ideas?

My guess is that you should be fine, but if you're really worried about it
you could build a frame vs stilts and distribute the weight more evenly,
and maybe even attach the frame to the sides.

Also I would nut/bolt all that in and not use screws.

I cut a piece of plywood to cover the base to make another floor under the recess and put casters on that.

I used some bigger casters I had laying around, so the cab is a little high.
I'll be getting some smaller ones soon, but the big ones make it really easy to roll around on carpet as well as wood or concrete floors.
Good luck.

From the pics I'd definitely NOT want the weight of the whole cab resting on a panel that's held on with strips from the bottom. You'll definitely want your extra supports to attach to the sides. Either that or reinforce that bottom shelf from the top and mount larger casters on it.
Why do you want to add casters anyway? Do you move it around much? Just remember that the cab may move while you're playing it too.

My cab is on casters and it doesn't move, even playing two player games. Its on unpadded industrial carpet.
Although its a Dynamo, the bottom is different than the original posters. Base is actually flush. You may be able to find casters that thread into the leg leveler holes in the corners.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I may try adding supports to the side panels, that or just not use wheels. I did attach some of those "magic sliders" feet in place of the levelers. The cab slides around pretty well now as I work on it (and its very level too). If I do attach wheels, I just didnt want them to be very visible.

Ooh I like that, I'll post pictures once it's done.
Thanks!
