Title: WG k7000 woes, general readings needed..
Post by: segasonicfan on August 15, 2007, 10:13:40 pm
Ok I have 5 WG K7000 chassis I have obtained cheap from several sources and I am trying to get my original 25" chassis working.  I've gone through the service manual and have bought replacement ICs and parts for most everything.  There is only a couple things I need to know from someone who has a working chassis or better knowledge:

1) Does pin 4 of the STR3132 voltage converter really output ~130v?  This is what the service manual says but all my boards read ~169v.  I checked closer for a short between pins 1 (input) and 4 (output) but there wasn't a short- there's just that large heat sinked 220ohm resistor across these pins.  So I am pretty darn confused on that one...

I've also been trying to use Q10 as a reference since the collector voltage is supposed to be ~40v according  to the service manual.  Is this correct as well?

Many thanks in advance,

hi, your STR is probably fried the voltage that you should get is the three last number of the reference 132V in your case.

mine is an STR30130 for 130 V and K7000 service book tell STR30123 and 123V on board.

ps: sorry for poor english i'am french.

Thanks for the info :)  The weird thing is if I disconnect the huge resistor across pins 4 and 1 it does read out ~132v.  Any idea why this is?  Thanks for the help!
