Without getting into a discussion of build your own for cheaper etc. IMO this is a great price for what you are getting. Interface, 2 joys, buttons and trackball for under $100.00. Great for those who do not want to build their own. Might even been good for the parts. You can replace the buttons or joys or micro switches with what you like if you want.
It is the only interface that allows easy connection to the popular consoles.
Am I ordering one? Sorry no it is not as good a deal if shipped to Canada.
-
i would consider one of these if you actually used genuine happ parts. im not so much concerned about the encoder. just the controls. sure you can swap out the buttons and joy, but you can just build your own too.
my point being i guess is if i have to modify it anyway then why not build it myself.
-
Why are the controls for player 1 and player 2 so close together? It makes the panel look retarded.
If you look at a standard tankstick it is much smaller in size. I would say that the overrun was made up for mame cabs that are wider and thus the cp is enlarged but the basic positioning is retained. Or as you say it looks retarded in your viewpoint.

Yes, nice.
2 Player Control Panel With Trackball: $99.95 :applaud:
PLUS only another $99.95 more for shipping to Finland.
That's a real bargain :)
Just send all you've got left to me, the check's already in the mail!

I dunno, this is an amazing deal, really. If I wasn't in the final stages of putting my panel together (desktop panel), I'd seriously consider this.
-
Does this ship with the USB adapter or do you have to buy that separately?
-
I just threw in an order for one. When I weighed the pros and cons of buying the necessary encoders vs paying a buck twenty five (with shipping) I decided to go with it. I'm not building a showcase cab though. My dedicated machines get a workout from adult freinds and relatives (yes I'm talking to my softball team if anyone is on here). So I decided to build a decent mame for the kids to play. Just my 2 cents.
-
So what is the verdict? Anyone else getting one? I'm in the US and I am so tempted!!
-
I just ordered one. I have a cabinet at my mother's house that I've been wanting to make a simple mame machine with and to be honest, this is totally worth the time and effort saved not to mention the components. I fully plan on making the crapmame list with the creation. :applaud:
-
wow I paid more than that for my simple 2 player model (no trackball)... that's a great price IMHO
I am building my own cab from scratch now, including a new CP, HOWEVER the x-arcade stuff is quite fun and definitely worth the money.
The sticks feel very good. I WOULD however replace the microswitches with cherries, if I didn't have the luxury to build the cab from scratch... the joysticks are fine IMHO.
anyway... great lower price for the model including trackball.

I just bought one and I dont know why...........lol
I have a all white cab with a xbox and a ps2 in it. I dont think I am going to build another one but would be interested in building a stand for the CP. Maybe with wheels so I can just set it up in fornt of a projector or tv. Anyone have one of those type of set-ups?
Why do the consle adaptors cost so much or am I just cheap? Any other solutions> I need one for my DC. At one point I thought there was an all in one type of deal, meaning xbox,ps2 and DC. Anyway let me know what you guys and gals think.
-
To all you who purchased one, does it ship with the PC USB adapter or do you have to buy that separately? The PC USB adapter costs $29.95 if it's not included. Thanks.

You could (or I could ;)) just hack dreamcast pads...

Just talked to them on the phone and it does have it. That is what I was told via phone call back from them.

I came home to find a gigantic package on my steps. Since I knew Discover/Novus didn't up my limit to cover the shipping and handling on my mail order Russian bride, it had to be my XXL. Much to my delight and dismay it is my XXL. The thing is too friggin big. Can I send my own pic into crap mame. I don't forsee a problem with player 1 bumping into player 2, I foresee my cab tipping over on me. Thanks for making this so sturdy, my Kangaroo cab might just implode.

:laugh2:

I bought one. I already have the original version of the X-Arcade stick, and like it pretty well. I plan to use the extra space on the side to throw in a couple of spinners. I'll be a little odd to have one spinner on the far left, and one on the far right, but at least the controls won't be too cramped together to use. I also have a SlikStick, and using the spinner or the joystick on the top row are a little bit of a pain, sometimes. *shrug* I am looking forward to trying the trackball on this new x-arcade unit!
Later...

Offically out of stock, I wonder how many were sold........
-
Is it wrong to post mine on here for $127 + shipping. That's what I'm into it for and I would just like to break even. Now all I need is some ice for my sore back from lugging that beast into the garage.
-
Am I the only one here who would NEVER buy an X-Arcade stick?

I did the math and it cost more to build it. I spend more populating my Williams Cab then this, I just could not pass. Even if it sits for a year or so. I do know someone, somewhere (Ebay) will buy it. Poeple are selling CP from $200 to $500 (dumb asses) but they do sell.

No it is not, sell it for what ever someone is willing to buy it for. But I doubt anyone from this board will buy it for less then what they were asking for it. For some reason when I went to the site you could not click on the link anywhere. So I think if you do not visit this site, you were not able to get one? :dunno
PS
Is it really that big?
-
I'm no Lee Haney, but I'm not Urkel either. I've never seen a 30 pound cp before. It's about the size of my 2 yr old son, and a bit heavier.
-
It might be cheaper...but it's...like, ugly. I haven't seen anyone throw this on a cab were it doesn't look completely out of place. It might be good if you have no intentions of throwing it in a cabinet, but still...
-
I'm sure a lot of these sold -- I saw this on all kinds of Hot Deals forums and it got good attention.

Yeah I have to agree with you! I will not be putting this in a cab. If I keep it I would like to just build around it and make it a showcase cab cp thingee. But I am not sure yet.
-
Am I the only one here who would NEVER buy an X-Arcade stick?
Id never USE xarcade but this is still a great deal. you can always swap the sticks/buttons with happcontrols parts.
-
Got mine today and based off what someone said, I thought I was gonna need a friend to bring it in the house..........."NOT". My wife carried it in. She is 5'2 and weighs 120. So dudes are worst then women (no disrespect).
But lets talk about what I have!!
I am already ready to change the switches and the buttons. I just dont like the feel of them Dont get me wrong for 129.00 you can not get better. The size is not big at all. My initial impression is how can I make this thing light up! I am happ and would/will spend the same $129.00 again!!
This is a sturdy box, I will say about $50 to $60. The interface (not sure what you call it) another $35. The buttons and joys are another $40 to $50. In my opinion it is worth the mod. Not sure what the mod is just yet but I look forward to it!!!
-
None takin. My friend bought an X-Arcade solo a while ago and hooked it to a cab he built. I bought mine without taking into consideration the dimensions of my cab (an old kangaroo cab). So to my small cab it's gigantic for what I expected. My own fault.

I guess for a cab, yes............but I have no intentions on putting this in a cab. If you build a cab, you should do just that.build every component. No matter matter what cp you would use.....it would be either to small or to big, in my opinion because it was not build to specs. I am just talking about getting your monies worth for the buck. My intentions are to build around it.
I am talking about a good/quality CP for the price. You can not build one for the same price if you ask me.
-
So you paid $99 for a precut control panel, no?
-
I received mine today and I think it was a hell of a deal. I'm sick of building control panels and it will be fairly easy to take everything off, paint it or put an overlay on it, and throw it on a cabinet. I've already built my dream machine, this is perfect for my brother or my mother's house. All I need now is to throw it all together. Austin, I don't know what you're looking for in here, but I didn't see anyone say that this was their ultimate setup. It's just a good deal for the price. :dunno
-
So you paid $99 for a precut control panel, no?
Lol, no :tool: (just joking)!
I bought a complete CP. I have extra cherry switches and the Famous Black player 1 and 2 buttons from Ponyboy and a several sticker button sets from Mike. So with that said, it is not just a precut CP, plus alot of people who make CP still would charge the same or more......thus it is a super deal how ever you look at it.
-
I'd like to think that, but with everybody upgrading the stock controls...
At any rate, it just doesn't look right to me. Controls are too squished and the panel is overall too wide. Way too much extra room.
-
They've upped the price to $119.95 :(
