Title: Windows Shell Help
Post by: CartmanDP1 on August 12, 2007, 08:44:59 am
I followed the instructions in the wiki on how to run my frontend in a shell and it worked great. The only issue is that i need to get back to the desktop, so i opened the task manager and went to file>run and typed in "explorer", all that this did was open My Documents rather than starting windows

Hmmm, that is a bit weird.  This is how I always used to return to a windows shell enviroment.

I would hazard a guess that explorer is already running.  If it is, calling another instance will simply open an explorer window in your documents folder.  I suggest checking this by booting into your FE, open task manager, and then checking for explorer under the process tab.  If it is there, than it is already running.

I was able to fix my own problem, i lied when i said i followed the wiki, i actually missed the very first step somehow where you change SYS to USR, everything else worked without the change.
