Title: Sanyo EZ (Nintendo, Donkey Kong) Monitor Question.
Post by: Neilyboy on August 12, 2007, 08:32:49 am
Alright, so I am restoring a DK cabinet. I know the existing monitor (which I am 90% sure works) requires 100v. What I am trying to do is get away from using the existing (old bulky) nintendo power supply and was hoping to update the insides and get a new power supply and run a jamma setup much like what markrvp did in project announcements with his DK restore (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=51522.0).

Anyway, I guess what I am looking for is a little advice on what I should do. I would like to use the existing monitor (since its already inverted video and has the onboard audio board for the game). I would just like to update the power supply so it is not only safer but not so large and bulky.

I do know the marquee light also requires 100v but that is being switched out with a NovaMatrix 12v LED Marquee bar.

Thank you so much for any and all help you can offer.

Neil

You will need a step down isolation transformer that outputs 100 volts. There are some that are made with two output taps you can select either 115 volts or 100 volts.

is it a smaller unit than the original nintendo power supply?
