hi, i running glaunch and mame32 on my cocktail cab. its all set up with just a few games on. the only thing what is annoying is the warning message on the start of galaga. there is a script for glaunch to run cmd's before the game, ive tried -skip_warning and it doesent work. is there anything else i can put or will i have to set it up with a new emulator like nonamemame or advmame.

You can set skipgameinfo and skipdisclaimer to 1 in mame.ini BUT only if you have an older version of MAME that supports it. Newer versions of mame do not have this option. I am using .73 and it works fine.
-
I noticed that. Why did they remove the option to skip those disclaimers?
-
Must have been "politically motivated" because it does not affect the emulation at all. Sort of like why are gambling games back when they were removed earlier?
-
thanks for the help, ive put mame32 .73 on but galaga dosent work its missing roms. has any one got a version that works with .73, if u have could you please email it to me thx. hunty3000@msn.com

Why not just create a custom compile of mame to remove the nag screens. This way you can use a newer version of mame. Do some searching and you can find instructions for this.
-
to much messing about, its all set up again now. easer to just get the right galaga version.
-
got a working version of galaga and edited the config file but it still comes up. any suggestions.
skip_disclaimer 1
skip_gameinfo 1
-
You have to use a mame binary not mame32
-
yeah thats what im using now but still carnt get it to work
-
If it gets rid of the other 2 screens then that is probably all you can do without recompiling. The last message is not covered by the flags in the mame.ini
-
Add
ftr 1
to your mame.ini

there you go:

If your not ready to creat your own custom recompile than I would suggest noname mame by byoac'er TheGatesOfBill it can be found here https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=91067&package_id=95932
It supports up to version 0.84u1
It supports no nag screens ultimately!
