Title: Mala: LEDBlinky 2.5: How to light buttons different colors for certain games??
Post by: Fat-Johnny on August 08, 2007, 09:10:46 am
The post for this plugin says:

Here's what it can do:
With RGB LEDs, you can specify colors for individual controls or using a pre-defined colors.ini file, match the original game control panel button colors.

My questions are:
1) I see that this "colors.ini" started as somebody's pet project, where they were scouring KLOV and such, and making a file of all of the original cabinets button colors.  Did it ever make it to fruition, and if so, where can I download it?

2) If there is no such file, how can I go about making my own?  What should it be called, what is the syntax, etc..

For parties and such, I have a list of "Party Favorites" with about 30 games on it.  It wouldnt be too hard to create my own colors.ini file to light my RGB buttons the way I want (track n field as white and red, NBA Jam as red/white/blue, etc).  I just need to know if a file is already out there, or how to create my own.

Thanks,

The file has already been created and posted on this forum.  All you have to do is search for colors.ini.  You may have to read 3 or 4 posts to find it though.

So far it seems completed.  It has all the games that I think there were not counting clones and whatnot.

Hey Fat-Johnny

ColorsIni was my pet project and I wrote a little program to help me go through and document all the CP button colours. It took a few hours to do that with the software, and AFAIK has all the colors to all the CP images I could get my hands on at the time. I believe you can get the latest ones from Mr Do!'s site.

I'm kinda looking for someone who wants to take over the project and continue with updates, and I can send you the latest version of the software used to create the file if your interested. It would be a shame to see this project die.

If anyone else is interested and has the motivation to keep it up to date with the latest CP image releases let me know.

EDIT: I'm not sure why arzoo doesn't include colors.ini in his LEDBlinky archive, it's only a few hundred k.

I went through a ton of the posts and couldn't find it.  (This forum doesn't have the option to search for posts with attachments.)
Anyone have a link to download controls.ini ?

Hey, it's all about saving space  ;)
I just wasn't sure if the file was complete so I figured the forum would have the most recent data. But I've added it to the next release.
