This pops up every now and then. Last time I was against the idea (and still am reluctant but as always I'm interested to see what people want), but it's time to check again since it's been asked a few times.
My reluctance is that I wouldn't want technical questions, software questions, etc... to be posted in the UK forum as those are general topics everyone is interested in. Discussions on local events, vendors, etc... would be fair game.
There's also http://www.killercabs.com/forum/ out there as well.
So - them's my thoughts, but if enough people want it we'll try one out. Vote?

Now that I've voted it's unanimous. No new forum. I would be concerned about the same things Saint pointed out. I also enjoy reading about the few small differences in our arcade experiences.

Perhaps a UK page on the Wiki might be more appropriate- gives dem furriners a chance to post up a set of links to stuff like UK parts vendors, arcade locations, converting from US coin mechs and whatever other UK-specific arcade info there might be. But questions will still end up in the regular forums.
-
I vote no, because where does it all end? Next it'll be the Brazilians. Then the Sudanese. Then the guys from New Jersey will want to break off on their own. Well maybe that one would be ok... ;D
-
does this keep Barry from posting in EE?
I kid Barry, I kid
-
on a serious note, A UK forum might make it easier for those guys to help each other out in finding cabs, arcade games and vendors so I don't see how it could hurt.....
-
Sorry mission but i voted no..... It would just turn into a replacment for PnR, with the UK folks singled out like that. Screw em, they wouldn't give representation in parliment why should you give em a place on your forum.... Viva La U.S.A
-
no worries, besides if the UK guys got their own forum, then the Aussies would demand their own forum, then I'd need my own forum....
it's be anarchy.....
-
or rather like an EU forum, not just UK?
-
Then we could break up this whole site into all kinds of sections. Jewish forum, african american forum, italian forum... ::)
-
Motion fails, no UK forum this time :)

You should report him to the moderator.

Saint has enough problems. He has to read all of my posts.

I really hesitated before clicking Saint's links..... but then I remembered he has rules and stuff in his playground so I figured I was safe.....
now had this been the fort, there would have been no way I'd have clicked it.....

I don't know what you guys are talking about.

I want a Dutch forum. For all 5 of us :P

recently , ive been thinking a uk area on the forum could be handy.
ive found a uk smartstrip recently and posted in the main forum, but it doesnt stay current as a topic for long as theres few responses as its only newsworthy to the few brits who see it, so im wondering then if its seen by all its useful to.
maybe we should create a uk wiki section, for uk specific products and services?
EDIT just noticed kremmit suggested the wiki, maybe i should look at doing it for uk products etc
