Title: xmame running too fast
Post by: captbaritone on August 07, 2007, 07:24:39 pm
Even though I have throttle turned on, xmame seems to be running a bit too fast. When I turn on the feature that tells you (in the upper right hand corner of the screen) how many FPS you are running at, it gives a number and then says its running at 100%.

This problem is most noticeable in games like Arkanoid. (I can only hit the ball one time, if I am lucky, and I am not that bad).

Any ideas?

Is the paddle moving to fast or the ball? If it is the paddle you can turn down the sensitivity in mame. Also what are you using mouse or spinner?

I had not thought of the fact that perhaps the controler was too sensitive. I also did not realize (as I do now) that Arkanoid is intended to be played with a spinner. This could definatly explain why Arkanoid is so hard. However, it seems like other games are running fast too, but its really hard to tell. Is there anyway to check to make sure a game is running at the correct speed?

I think they changed the way frame rate is displayed. It use to show the fps (60/60) now it shows percent so I am not too sure
