Title: Messed up my Ipac shift key????
Post by: smocksam on April 26, 2003, 07:45:04 pm
Hello,

I've been doing some rewiring on my control panel and now my shift keys on my ipac don't work?

The Shift button itself (1 start) works as do the rest of the buttons, but none of the shift functions work.

I'm using the IPAC hooked up via USB running win 98 SE.  As I said before everything was fine until I unhooked a few wires and moved the location of my ipac??

I think the common problem when the shift key does not work is one of the other keys is stuck on.  Use the Ipac util to figure out which key is on and clear it.

Yup, that did it!  My ground strap was bumping up against on of the empty plugs on my switch!   I knew I couldn't have messed anything up that bad!

Thanks for the help!

hmmm my shift key is also not working ... had a switch incorrectly wired so it was sending OFF on press, instead of sending ON on press. so in effect I had a 'stuck key'. Fixed that but now still no shift function ??
When I start WinIpac and go to test mode, hitting player 1 button just shows '1'. Also pressing shifted functions does not show the shifted function ..

help !! can't add coins, cant hit escape !!

sorry , accidentally hijacked thread .. will create seperate thread with all info .. etc.

sorry
