My system im gonna put in my cab is a 1Ghz with 512mb ram, running windows XP. I currently am running mame32. Should i use a different version? I dont want to use a dos emu since i am really bad with command lines. I just want a FE that i can compleatly control with an arcade CP.

See the BYOAC menu on the left side of your screen? Goto SOFTWARE.

Asking which FE you should use is like asking which car you should buy. There are just WAY too many variables at play for anyone to tell you what will work best for YOU.
Take a look at each of them and compare for yourself.

Ya thanks for the help ::)
Im sorry perhaps i should have said is what do you use and why? Then i could have goten some real hands on impressions since the software page has very little information about their qualities. Please i just want an idea of people around here use.

Again, that's a dumb question man, sorry. You are going to get an equal number of votes throughout the board.
GO TRY THEM!!!!!:P:P:P

Wow! Three people found the time to criticize the question when it was pretty obvious he was looking for a recommendation for an easy to setup frontend. Aren't you all so smart and insightful!!
originalself: check out mamewah -- it's pretty easy to use. Maybe if you told us want you want that mame32 doesn't provide we could give a more precise answer.

Listen man, everyone likes /uses different frontends for different reasons. Some people want an FE thats easy to setup. Others, like myself, sacrifice ease of use for power/control over it.
All the best / most commonly used FE's are listed in this website and it's up to you to try them out for yourself and make a decision.
Just because I like Mint Chocolate Chip icecream doesn't mean that you are going to like it :)

Ok, I'll be nice. If you want something that is easy to setup and looks pretty on the cabinet and your just going to use mame try out arcadefx. That is exactly what it was designed for.

You might want to check out EmuTron www.pacmanfan.com,
It's very flexible.

I'm a recent MameWah convert. If you're running in the windows enviornment it's a great choice, it hides the OS, doesn't flicker when launching the game, you can't escape out of the FE accidentally, and setup is super easy.
One thing though, I didn't care for the Mame Wah logo but you can change that too!
Good job!

Hey what's wrong with my logo! :P lol
I don't plan using it in my cab either tho ;)

I tried a number of FE's last year before settling on mamewah.
It was by far the easiest to setup and it had no issues with MAME being installed on my c drive and all my roms, etc. on my d drive.
I'm running version .895 I think. I had stability issues with the latest version (0.90).
Oh yeah, I'm not using the default logo either (not that I thought it looked THAT bad ;). I made a resized version of the marquee I'm using and use that as my logo.
