This is a picture of the kick panel on the cabinet I picked up this afternoon. The side art says the game title so I won't show that, but I think the cabinet is fairly rare and was curious if anybody would recognize it.
I didn't get the original board, marquee, bezel or cpo from the cabinet, but it has what is suspected to be a Mr. Do board, it doesn't work, but I'll deal with that in my project announcement thread when I start that.
Anybody know what it is?

Are you going to keep the art the way it is?

Good job. Did you search or just know. I hadn't seen one before the CL posting I got this one from and when looking online several of the places had few or now pictures. I don't have the marquee or the extra "marquee" from between the monitor and the normal marquee, so I was bumbed when I couldn't find the artwork for that extra piece. I suppose that reaction may describe my intent for the artwork. The side art is really quite good for a 28 year old cabinet. I am planning on keeping the art as original as possible, just because it is so unique. I may do a custom marquee and cpo of some sort since I think I will make a classic vertical emulator out of it. I don't intend to modify any of the original features of the cabinet that are still intact, other than using a new marquee light, and possibily rearranging the interior to fit a motherboard, HDD, and PS from a computer.
I have more pictures of the cabinet and even more questions than pictures about the monitor and various arcade parts in the cab that I will share soon in a project announcement. Keep your eyes peeled.

Nice score. One doesn't see too many of those old Universal games around anymore.

A little of both I suppose. I have this weird interest in building an arcade cab with retro looking artwork. (Probably from playing too much Katamari or something.) So I've been trying to keep an eye out for art just like what you have and I recall seeing it somewhere. I just couldn't recall where I've seen it so I just started searching around until I spotted it.
I don't have my HDD hooked up right now so I don't know if that art is a part of the collection we share. It would be a really cool addition, especially that side art. Love the curves on it.

I love Universal's artwork. The side art on Cosmic Alien and Cosmic Guerilla are two of my favorites. I'm not totally crazy about the shape of their cabinets, but I also think the upper bezel art is a really cool idea.
Look at the cabinet for Devil Zone. It uses the same art as your machine with only the title changed.

That could be a useful find if I wanted to do some more of the original artwork, say on the upper bezel. I bet it is the same image too. Thanks for that info.

That is definitely a drug-induced design...

Wow love the artwork/design of those cabs, never seen one before.

All of the art seems to be the same except the title. Anybody notice while looking at the KLOV listing for magical spot that there are currently three eBay auctions for the manual? The cover of the manual has the same art as the back marquee piece. With a scan of that and the photo from Devil Zone's KLOV listing as a rough color reference I'm guessing that an acceptable reproduction could be made.
Anybody else get the feeling that whoever did the artwork for the Universal cabs had a background doing 70's pinball art? Maybe it's the half-naked women that make it feel that way.

Nice score! That arcade style is sweet!
